Hi there!
I wanted to let you know that I decided to make the Make an Office Tutorial free on my Gumroad.
This tutorial has helped thousands of people over the years, and it's humbling how often I run into someone, and they are thankful for how vital this tutorial was in their careers.
When I created this tutorial, I aimed to simplify interior/modular environment art design and show the user the easiest and fastest way to make such environments. I didn't even have an idea, in the beginning, I just started making modules and playing around with them until they started to take shape.
This is a different approach than in my upcoming tutorial, where I use a much more structured workflow, which is ideal for longer-term and more complex projects. The techniques in the Office Tutorial are great if you want to play around with modularity and trim sheets and just enjoy the process and not worry about being overwhelmed.
This is the perfect tutorial for a beginner because it's very approachable and will teach you a strong foundation to build upon. I even had some people tell me they learned Unreal 4 with this tutorial, which to me was very surprising.
If you are more experienced, I'm sure you will still find techniques here to speed up and simplify your workflow. If nothing else, there's always value in seeing how someone else works :)
Some people feel a little put off by the tutorial because I don't use Substance on it, and I get that. Especially for people who started environment art in the last 2 or 3 years, it seems that Substance is the standard, and there's nothing outside it when it comes to texturing. But the truth is, Substance is just a tool. It's good for some things and not so good for others. By learning time-tested techniques, you can only become a more qualified professional, with the added benefit of being more creative in Substance since you will want to adapt some of these techniques.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this content and make awesome stuff with it! If you think it's valuable, help spread the word and send it to people you know that could benefit from it.
If you already purchased the Video Only version of the tutorial, with this link, you can get the complete version and check out the Source files too. Thank you for your patronage over the years, I appreciate it!
